A Passage to Bengal: An Authentic Home-Cooked Bengali Banquet for Four
Join Diana Garnham at home for an evening of authentic, home-cooked West Bengali cuisine that will be unlike any other curry night you've experienced.
Diana will prepare for you and three friends a delicious meal of dishes from this huge multicultural area of India, influenced by its geography of sea, rivers and mountains as well as its colonial past: a region that stretches from the Himalayas to the Sundarbans on the Bay of Bengal.
A pre-dinner drink of the celebrated vodka-based Cooch Behar cocktail will be followed by a three-course spread. There will be fish and meat options and unique family dishes from the Cooch Behar Palace, such as Little Granny's Infamous Hell Fire, Monisha's Shingaras and Pakoras, and Auntie Ashoka's spiced apple chutney. We'll finish with the creamy and rich Bengali rice pudding known as Payesh, usually only a treat for special family occasions.
You can choose to have your Bengali Banquet for Four in either Rotherhithe, south London, or in rural East Sussex.
